Setting the Direction
Strategies
Specific actions to achieve the Blueprint’s goals are organised under three major strategies:
System improvement
We'll improve our systems to ensure that all young people and their families have access to high quality schools and early learning services through:
-
Integration and transitions
A more integrated, convenient and smoother education system that will allow families to get the support they need.
-
High-quality, accessible early childhood services
Improvement in early childhood services by emphasising the importance of learning, and increasing the qualifications of staff.
-
Excellent school education
Systematic approach to school improvement in government schools and stronger interventions in schools where performance needs to improve.
Partnerships with parents and communities
We'll develop partnerships with parents and communities to ensure that parents and families are valued partners in their children’s development and learning, through:
-
Working with families, communities and business
Parents and families raising children will receive more community support through the fostering of strong partnerships between early childhood services, schools, the broader community and business
-
Opportunity for all Victorians
Further reforms to ensure our schools and children’s services are equipped to respond effectively to the individual needs of all children.
Workforce reform
We'll reform our workforce to ensure that schools and early childhood services have skilled and committed staff who are supported to deliver their very best, through:
-
Modern careers and workplaces
Attracting the best people to work in education and early childhood through rewarding career structures and modern work practices
-
A culture of strong leadership and professional learning
We will engage the workforce in professional learning with a focus on leadership skills driving improved performance.
