Blueprint for Education and Early Childhood Development

The twenty-first century is increasingly complex, global and networked. The life chances of our children and young people in this world will depend in large part on the support they and their families receive early in life.

In 2008 the Victorian Government launched its Blueprint for Education and Early Childhood Development (the Blueprint) setting out the Government’s five-year agenda for learning and development from birth to adulthood. It is the next generation of reform to improve outcomes for children and young people.

Much has happened since the Blueprint was launched a year ago. The first year of the Blueprint has seen the development and implementation of 42 actions across three reform strategies: system improvement, partnerships with parents and communities, and workforce reform.  The Blueprint for Education and Early Childhood Development: One Year On report highlights the achievements made in the first year of Blueprint implementation and describes the actions that the Government commits to in 2010.
