What is the Dardee Boorai Art Award?

    The Dardee Boorai Art Award is designed to help students discuss and examine the themes of Dardee Boorai, recognising the strength and resilience of Victoria’s Aboriginal culture, communities and families as well as outlining a commitment to work together to improve outcomes and life chances for Aboriginal children and young people.

    The theme of the Award is ‘Strong Aboriginal Children’.

    Who is eligible?

      The Dardee Boorai Art Award is open to Victorian children and young people up to 18 years of age.

      When is this happening?

        Entries are now open.

        Entries close on Friday 30 October 2009.

        Winners will be notified by Thursday 10 December 2009.

        How to enter

          Entries should reflect the artist’s interpretation of the theme ‘Strong Aboriginal Children’.

          Each entry should be on paper or canvas and should be 297mm by 420mm, which is equivalent to an A3 size piece of paper.

          The artwork and accompanying entry form should be sent to:

          Entries should be sent rolled or flat to ensure the artwork is not damaged in transit.

          Prizes

            Prizes include art vouchers, DS Nintendos, bikes, Wii Fit consoles and notebook computers.

            Winning entries will be displayed at the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development Head Office at 2 Treasury Place and will be featured in upcoming publications.
