The Department is currently considering all submissions on the proposed Regulations. The final Regulations will be made in June 2017.
In accordance with the Subordinate Legislation Act 1994, a Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) presenting a cost-benefit analysis of the proposed Regulations has been prepared. See:
Stakeholder feedback was considered in the preparation of these documents.
Scope of the review
This review relates to matters that can be dealt with in regulations, and does not include matters that would require legislative amendment to the Education and Training Reform Act 2006.
The scope of matters that may be prescribed in regulations is outlined in section 5.10.1 of, and Schedule 5 to, the Education and Training Reform Act 2006.
Other principal regulations made under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006, including the Education and Training Reform (School Safety) Regulations 2011 and the Education and Training Reform (School Attendance) Regulations 2013 are not affected by the sunsetting Education and Training Reform Regulations 2007. However they will be reviewed to ensure ongoing consistency with any changes made as a result of this review process.
The public consultation period is now closed. Thank you to those who provided submissions. The submissions will be published on this website shortly, with the exception of those that requested confidentiality.
