The Inclusive Schools Fund (the Fund) is a $20 million fund designed to help make Victoria the Education State, providing Victorian Government schools with quality new spaces and more inclusive facilities, based on best practice research and design.
About the Fund
Schools can apply for funding to build best practice inclusive school facilities.
Funding is intended to:
- Increase participation and improve learning outcomes for students with disabilities through strengthening and developing inclusive government school environments
- promote inclusion in classroom organisation and teaching approaches that tailor to the needs of all learners on the same basis, including those with disabilities
- create innovative school environments based on inclusive best practice and Universal Design for all schools to consider in facility planning and design for students with disabilities.
The Fund is in addition to the annual Accessible Buildings Program that is available to all schools. The Accessible Buildings Program assists schools in providing facilities that enable students, parents and teachers with injuries or disabilities to access mainstream schools that are compliant with the relevant legislation and standards.
Applications for the Fund must address the criteria and demonstrate how projects will build and enhance a school culture of inclusion as well as enhance the participation of students with disabilities.

The Inclusive Schools Fund Guidelines outline the types of projects that could be funded and provide information about world's best practice in inclusive design. Projects should focus on the improvement of existing facilities with the value of projects expected to be between $15,000 and $200,000.
