The Victorian Government is committed to supporting early childhood services to meet early childhood sector reform requirements and increased demand for early childhood services.
Employment Incentives for Early Childhood Teachers are available to provide services with financial support to attract and retain qualified early childhood teachers to deliver an approved kindergarten program.
An Employment Incentive of up to $15,000 is available for eligible services. Eligible services can promote the availability of an Employment Incentive as part of the employment package when advertising vacant early childhood teacher positions, or encourage existing staff to remain in early childhood teacher positions
Who can apply?
Kindergarten and Long Day Care services in regional and remote communities and Aboriginal early childhood services can apply for Employment Incentive funding.
Regional and remote communities have been identified using the ABS Remoteness Structure. Eligible locations are available at
Regional and Remote Locations (docx - 47.51kb).
Consideration will also be given to services experiencing difficulty in attracting or retaining an early childhood teacher which are not located in identified regional and remote communities.
