Early Childhood Scholarships

Early Childhood Qualifications Fund

Applications received outside of an application round will not be processed.

Prioritisation of applications

If the value of the applications exceeds our scholarship budget, applicants will be prioritised in the following order:

  • applicants working at a Victorian licensed children's or approved education and care with a staffing waiver in place where their higher qualification will result in the service no longer requiring the waiver
  • applicants undertaking a teaching degree or postgraduate qualification that will contribute to them being counted as an early childhood teacher or meet the working towards requirement. This is in preparation of the 2020 regulation change where centre-based services for children under school age that provide education and care for more than sixty children on any given day will have increased requirements for early childhood teachers
  • applicants that speak both English and a language identified, with priority given to the following qualifications in the following order: teaching degree or postgraduate qualification that will contribute them to being counted as an early childhood teacher or meet the working towards requirement, diploma and then certificate.
