How to Nominate

Nomination Portal

Nominations for the Victorian Training Awards must be submitted via the online portal system no later than midnight on Friday 16 June 2017. Hard copy nominations will not be accepted.

Nominations in all categories are welcome from training and TAFE providers, employers and industry, other organisations and groups in the training and TAFE system as well as individuals and the wider community.

Supporting Evidence

The award criteria should be the focus of the nomination, however any relevant evidence may be provided to support the nomination.

Supporting evidence must not include additional responses to the criteria.

Individual Categories

Supporting evidence should include:

  • relevant training and/ or education certificates (required)
  • a written reference or letter of support from a teacher, trainer, principal or employer (required)
  • a photo of the nominee (required)
  • any recognition or achievement awards
  • other evidence supporting the claims made in your nomination.

All individual nominations must include a signed copy of either the Employer/Training Provider Declaration or the School Declaration (School-based apprentices/trainees only), see:

Employer/Training Provider Categories

Supporting evidence should include:

  • up to five photographs showcasing the organisation or initiative (required)
  • the organisations logo (required)
  • any recognition or achievement awards
  • other evidence supporting the claims made in your nomination
  • tables, graphs and figures (Word or PDF versions only) to support responses to the criteria

All employer and training provider nominations must include a signed copy of the Business Endorsement, see:

Nomination information

Individuals and organisations may nominate themselves

Student nominees (Apprentice, Trainee, Koorie and Vocational) must still be enrolled in their course or have completed their training within the dates outlined in the award eligibility. Student nominees for the School-based Apprentice/Trainee of the Year Award must still be enrolled in school and have completed or be due to complete their course within the dates outlined in the award eligibility.

For the employer categories, any organisation or business in Victoria can nominate. This includes Victorian divisions and subsidiaries, franchise systems and franchisees, and public sector agencies and departments. Only the training conducted by the Victorian operation will be considered for the award.

What happens to nominations?

Nominations will be evaluated and only those eligible for the award will be entered into the judging rounds.

Finalists will be contacted by the Victorian Training Awards program team at the completion of the judging rounds. Finalists will be announced at the conclusion of the judging.

All nominations are judged against the award criteria. Nominations are considered by judging panels comprising of individuals with extensive experience in the training and industry sectors.
